Depth of Field

Here is two photos. One looks like a standard upward shot of a tree with others in the background. The other is the same shot with something in the background to give you a point of reference for the size of this "tree."

Fire Shot

Anyone that has ever taken/ or attempted to take a fire shot knows how difficult it is. You are not using a flash so the shutter is opened longer (slower shutter speed). This means that any movement will become blurred and if you are not using a tripod, you might as well forget it. Being patient I was able to get this shot. Not my best, but I am trying.

It's all in the details

I love this pic because of the detail it gives. This little flower does not have anything really to boast about. But when taking a closer look, from a different angle, with a different lense then the ordinary pops out to an almost extraordinary shot. Hope you like it.

Wide Angle Shot

Playing with some of the features I found this mode. I hate it when I plac pics on my desk top and find that it gets all stretched out because of the wide angle screen. Using this feature will allow me to keep the proportions correct. I thought this was a pretty cool pic utilizing the wide angle perspective well.

Jimminy Cricket

Needing a vacation away from work, and thus looking for a place that does not have cell phone reception we found Van Damme State Park in Mendocino. Here is my beginning to the world of micro photography, wildlife edition. I can't believe that it let me get that close.
